Co-chair of MCHS’s COVID-19 Vaccine Allocation and Distribution Work Group answers questions concerning the virus from media

Cases of the COVID-19 delta variant continue to increase in the U.S.  Dr. Melanie Swift, co-chair of Mayo Clinic’s COVID-19 Vaccine Allocation and Distribution Work Group, answered a number of questions from the media during a press briefing this week, and Swift talked with KAUS News about the biggest piece of disinformation she has come across concerning the virus and the pandemic…

Swift went on to state that those that are currently being hospitalized with the virus are primarily patients that are unvaccinated….

The Minnesota Department of Health reported this week that more than half of the counties in the state, including Mower are now in the ‘high transmission’ category.  Almost all of the other Minnesota counties are in ‘substantial transmission.’  The C-D-C recommends everyone wear masks indoors in counties with “substantial” or “high” COVID transmission.  If someone is unvaccinated, they should mask-up indoors regardless of where they are.
