A day filled with family-friendly fun is planned in Lanesboro for Saturday, Oct. 1. Fall Into Lanesboro returns for another year with an event list that includes a variety of activities, including free mini-pumpkin painting to multiple evening entertainment options.

Visitors and residents can start the day shopping for local treats, hand-made items and fall produce at the Lanesboro Farmers’ Market in Sylvan Park from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. A brand-new, free, and family-friendly “Lanesboro Quest” scavenger hunt card, which features downtown Lanesboro stops, is available to pick up at the Lanesboro Visitor Center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or at Clara’s Eatery from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Children can enjoy a Lanesboro ECFE storytime outside the Lanesboro Public Library from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and free children’s books will be provided.

Travel just outside of Lanesboro (32060 Furrow Road) to Big Springs Pumpkins and Corn Maze, open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with $10 admission for ages 4 and above. In their second year, this amazing fall destination features pick-your-own pumpkins, tractor wagon rides, food concessions, various games, and a superb corn maze.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., free horse-drawn wagon rides will be offered in downtown Lanesboro and sponsored by Merchant’s Bank and the Lanesboro Area Chamber of Commerce. Located at Parkway Place in downtown Lanesboro, free mini-pumpkin painting will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and sponsored by Lanesboro Arts and the Cottage House Inn.

Visit Home Sweet Home Cafe and Cakery from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to purchase fall cookie decorating kits ($4.99/kit). Granny’s Liquor will offer free beer and wine sampling from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Be sure to visit the Lanesboro History Museum from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. to discover their exhibits and get up close and personal with Lanesboro history. Our live, professional theatre, the Commonweal Theatre, presents an afternoon matinee (1:30 p.m.) of “The Mystery of Edwin Drood.”

Lanesboro has a variety of restaurants open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with menu options consisting of eggs benedict, steak sandwich, chicken pot pie, delectable burgers, homemade pasta and more. Lanesboro’s American Legion will have a fish fry offered from 5 p.m. until gone. At 7 p.m., local band River Crossing performs at High Court Pub, where one can also get a beverage, flatbread pizza, and wings.

Lanesboro Arts hosts its Audacious Raw Theatre Year 6, Part 2, at the St. Mane Theatre at 7 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., the Commonweal Theatre offers their evening performance of “Good People.”
