First presumptive case of monkeypox reported in Minnesota

The first presumptive case of monkeypox has been reported in the state of Minnesota. State Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm says the patient is an adult male from the Twin Cities.  The man was likely exposed while traveling in Europe..


Common symptoms include fever, fatigue, headaches, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, and a rash that can look like pimples or blisters. Some people in the current outbreak have only reported rashes, which typically are found on the hands, feet, face, or genitals.
