Fishing for a Cure Ice Fishing Tournament to be held Saturday at Austin’s Eastside Lake

The Fishing for a Cure Ice Fishing Tournament to raise funds for cancer research at the Hormel Institute during the Paint the Town Pink initiative will be held Saturday at Eastside Lake in Austin from noon to 2 p.m.  KAUS spoke with organizer Haley Newman, who talked about what all will be going on as a part of the event on Saturday…


 

Newman went on to state that the event typically draws a large crowd to Eastside Lake…

Newman added that there are a wide variety of items to bid on for the event’s Silent Auction to he held along with a meal at the Eagles Club in Austin after the tournament….

The entry fee for the event is $20, which includes drilled holes, bait, and a button number entered for a $100 drawing.  If you are wearing a button and catch the largest fish by weight, the prize for 1st place is $300, 2nd place is $200 and 3rd place is $100.  Portable fish houses will be allowed on Eastside Lake for the event on Saturday.
