Four additional COVID-19 cases reported in Mower County Thursday for cumulative total of 4,648

Mower County logged 4,522 confirmed and 126 probable COVID-19 cases Thursday for a cumulative total of 4,648 since the onset of the pandemic, up four for the second straight day, according to statistics released Thursday by the MInnesota Department of Health.  Pam Kellogg, Division Manager with MOwer County Health and Human Services reported that there are currently approximately 50 active COVId-19 cases in the county.  Health officials stated that 42,071 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and just over 574,200 people have been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County reported 13,225 cumulative cases Thursday, a rise of eight from Wednesday, Steele County recorded 3,867 cumulative cases Thursday, up six from Wednesday and Freeborn County confirmed 3,415 cumulative COVID-19 cases Thursday, up three from Wednesday.  Dodge County now has 1,845 cumulative COVID-19 cases, up two from Wednesday and Fillmore County reported 1,559 cumulative cases Thursday, up two from Wednesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 1,011 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Thursday for a cumulative total of 591,445, and they added that 19 additional COVID-19 deaths were recorded in the state from Wednesday to Thursday for a cumulative total of 7,274 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 31,241 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalizations since the start of the pandemic, and 6,356 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
