With continuing extreme cold winter temperatures, The Great Paint the Town Pink Challenge is rescheduled to Saturday, February 20. Organizers want the event to be fun and safe for participants, and temps forecast for this weekend are below zero.

With a promise of temps in the 20s, The Great Paint the Town Pink Challenge is now scheduled for Saturday, February 20 from 1-4 pm. Cost is $20/car and includes all challenge stops, snacks, and prizes for finishing the challenge. Registration will start at 1pm on February 20 at The Hormel Institute and participants will return to The Hormel Institute once they have completed the challenge. For more details visit hi.umn.edu.

The Great Paint the Town Pink Challenge was created to make sure the original goal of Paint the Town Pink – to support cancer research at The Hormel Institute, UMN – continues. Paint the Town Pink has raised over $2 million to support innovative cancer research projects at The Hormel Institute and support is especially important this year when COVID-19 is preventing many events from taking place.

The Great Paint the Town Pink Challenge will take you and your team all around Austin to complete challenges and fill out a Challenge bingo card to win prizes and be entered in drawings – this is a great opportunity to get your family or a group of friends out of the house to have some fun. Tasks include skeet shooting at the Cedar Valley Conservation Club, going up against an Austin Bruins Goalie, posing with a demo derby car and much more.

The event begins at The Hormel Institute and your individual “start time” can be anytime between 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. It also ends at The Hormel Institute at 4 p.m.
