Infectious disease expert with Mayo Clinic talks treatments for COVID-19

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, health care professionals have worked hard to develop treatments for patients and have learned to manage the risk of hospitalization and death from COVID-19.  Dr. Raymund Razonable, a Mayo Clinic infectious disease expert stated to KAUS News and other media outlets during a press briefing that although Mayo is administering monoclonal antibody therapy and other treatments to battle the virus, he stressed that protective measures, such as getting vaccinated for COVID-19 are the best measures available to keep from contracting the virus…

Dr. Razonable was also asked if there are any differences as to how the two main types of COVID, the original and the Delta variant, respond to various treatments…..

Dr. Razonable was later asked during the briefing if someone could come down with COVID and the flu at the same time…

The Minnesota Department of Health and the C-D-C are both recommending everyone eligible to get vaccinated for COVID, and to wear masks indoors in counties in Minnesota with high COVID-19 transmission, which is now every county in the state. If someone is unvaccinated, they should mask up indoors regardless of where they are.
