Iowa man injured in one-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 218 in Steele County Thursday afternoon

An Iowa man was injured in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 218 in Steele County Thursday afternoon.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2010 Chevy Cobalt being driven by 54-year old Steven Allen Rohde of Waterloo, IA, was northbound on Highway 218 at approximately 1:42 p.m. Thursday afternoon when he went off the road and rolled into the ditch near milepost 31 in Blooming Prairie Township.

Rodhe suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Austin for treatment. The State Patrol indicated in their report that Rohde was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.  

The Steele County Sheriff’s Office and Blooming Prairie Police and Ambulance assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene Thursday afternoon.
