It’s Finally Here!

Well, it WILL be here in a week or so. I’m talking about FOOTBALL!

It’s my favorite time of year. There’s nothing like sitting and watching NFL football on a cool, crisp Fall day. I’m a Packer fan. I have been since the very early 90’s. Believe it or not, I grew up a Bears fan. Once they went and made that AWFUL/CRINGY Super Bowl Shuffle video, I thought they got a little too cocky, even though they won, beating the Patriots 46-10 in Super Bowl XX.

I had just moved to Wisconsin and thought, “well, I may as well root for the under dog. I needed a new team to support so why not?

I’ll be honest. I used to HATE the Vikings with a passion. I hated them because they were so good. With Randy Moss, Chris Carter, Robert Smith, Daunte’ Culpepper and more. It used to make me so mad that all he had to do was throw the long ball up and Moss would come down with it for 6…Or Carter or whomever. They made it look easy.

But since moving to Minnesota, I’ve come to …I don’t know…ummmm…hate them less?

I’ve come to make many friends here and I’ve seen their heartache every season so I tend to feel bad for the Viking fans. They get so far…and just…lose it all. I’ll admit though, that if the Packers don’t make it to the play-offs, I’ll root for the Vikings. Same for the Lions if they make it but not the Bears.

So, on Sept. 10th…That’s all that will be on my TV. Football. All. Day. I’m so looking forward to it. And good luck to your favorite team. I have a feeling this is going to be a memorable season for some of us.
