Kasson man sentenced to supervised probation in Mower County District Court on 2011 criminal sexual conduct charge

A Kasson man who pleaded guilty to raping a 15-year old girl back in September of 2010 while a resident of LeRoy at the time has been sentenced to supervised probation in Mower County District Court.

36-year old Steven Michael Allan Collett was sentenced Thursday to 10 years of supervised probation for a felony charge of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct, victim 13-15 years of age, actor over 24 months older.  A 36-month prison sentence was stayed for 10 years if Collett complies with the terms of his probation.

Collett first pleaded guilty to the charge in June of 2011, and he was convicted in October of that same year.  A felony charge of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct, force or coercion and two additional felony charges of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct, victim 13-15 years of age, actor over 24 months older in the case were dismissed with Collett’s guilty plea.
