Lyle/Pacelli Athletics baseball team edges Alden-Conger-Glenville-Emmons 3-1 Tuesday

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics baseball team was back on the road to Glenville Tuesday for a Southeast Conference matchup with the Wolverines of Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons, and Hunter VaDeer and Jack Klingfus combined to hold the Wolverines to one run on four hits on the mound in a 3-1 win, their sixth in a row.

Lyle/Pacelli pushed across a single run in the top of the 3rd to take a 1-0 lead, and they added two more runs in the top of the 6th for insurance.  AC/GE’s only run came in the bottom of the 6th, but VaDeer and Klingfus were able to shut the door from there, as VaDeer earned the win by pitching the first three innings and giving up no runs on no hits, striking our four and walking four.  Klingfus came in starting in the fourth inning and gave up the one Wolverine run, which was earned, on four hits, striking out four and walking none.

Offensively for the Athletics, both Mac Nelson and Dane Schara were 2 for 4 with a double and a RBI, Landon Meyer was 1 for 4 with a run scored, Jake Truckenmiller added a RBI and Blake Klingfus, Trey Anderson and Isaac Nelson all added hits in the win, with Nelson scoring a run.

With the win, Lyle/Pacelli moves to 11-2 in the Southeast Conference and 13-4 overall on the season.  The Athletics will wrap up the regular season at Marcusen Park on Thursday versus GMLOK, with first pitch at 4:30 p.m.
