Lyle/Pacelli baseball rolls by GMLOK 16-1 in Southeast Conference baseball Tuesday

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics baseball team was looking for win number three in a row in Spring Valley Tuesday versus the GMLOK Bulldogs in a Southeast Conference tilt, and a ten-run top of the 6th for the Athletics helped to pave the way to a 16-1 win.

Lyle/Pacelli scored four in the third, two in the fifth and ten in the sixth on their way to the win, and there were hitting heroes aplenty in the game for LP, led by Hunter VaDeer who was 4 for 5 with two triples, two RBI’s and three runs scored, Landon Meyer was 2 for 4 out of the leadoff spot for the Athletics with two RBI’s and two runs scored, Mac Nelson was also 2 for 4 with a run knocked in and two more scored, Logyn Brooks went 2 for 4 with a double, three RBI’s and a run scored, Jake Truckenmiller was 1 for 3 for the Athletics with a RBI and three runs scored and Blake Klingfus went 1 for 4 with two RBI’s and two runs scored.  Connor Munson, Gavin Sweeny, Bret Musel and Andrew Ramaker all earned one hit apiece for the Bulldogs, with Musel knocking in the only run of the game for GMLOK.

Mac Nelson was strong on the mound for Lyle/Pacelli in earning the win as he pitched six innings and gave up the one run, which was unearned on four hits, striking out 11 and walking none.

With the win, the Athletics raise their record to 3-1 overall and 3-1 in Southeast Conference play, while GMLOK fell to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the conference with the loss.  Lyle/Pacelli returns to action Friday at Mabel-Canton, with first pitch scheduled for 4:30 p.m., and the Bulldogs are back at home Friday versus Spring Grove, with first pitch also scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
