Lyle/Pacelli boys’ basketball 2-0 after 64-54 win over Kingsland in home opener

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys’ basketball team was looking to move to 2-0 for the young season in their home opener in Lyle Tuesday evening against Southeast Conference foe Kingsland, and guard Buay Koak led three Athletics in double figures in scoring with 21 points, plus he added 12 rebounds, three assists and a steal in a 64-54 win over the Knights.

Mac Nelson also helped to pave the way to victory with 20 points, seven rebounds, two steals and an assist, Jakob Truckenmiller added 11 points, six rebounds, four assists and a steal, Hunter Bauer chipped in four points, Landon Meyer and Trey Anderson each chipped in three points and David Christenson scored two points for the Athletics, who shot 15-28 for 53.6% for 2-point field goals and 8-22 from beyond the 3-point arc for 36.4% in the win.

Lyle/Pacelli raises their record to 2-0 on the season, and they return to action Friday night in Spring Grove versus the Lions in the Southeast Conference, with the varsity tip-off scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
