Lyle/Pacelli boys basketball routs Mabel/Canton 75-36 Tuesday evening

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys’ basketball team was back in action Tuesday evening after an eight-day layoff versus the Mable/Canton Cougars in a Southeast Conference matchup in Mabel, and guard Buai Duop tallied 29 points and eight rebounds as the Athletics led 35-19 at the half on their way to a 75-36 win.

Besides Duop’s 29 points, Mac Nelson was also in double figures in scoring for LP with 12 points, plus he added four rebounds and a steal, Jake Truckenmiller added nine points, five rebounds and team-highs in assists with eight and steals with four, Landon Meyer chipped in seven points, Trey Anderson and David Christianson each supplied five points, Luke Weaver scored four points, and Hunter Bauer and Christopher Maly-Price each tallied two points for the Athletics, who outrebounded the Cougars in the game 43-26.

With the win, Lyle/Pacelli remains in first place in the Southeast Conference’s West Division at 5-0, and they are now 8-2 overall on the sesaon.  The Athletics return to action in LeRoy Friday night against the red-hot Cardinals of LeRoy/Ostrander, winners of five in a row. Varsity action in LeRoy tips off Friday night at 7:15 p.m.
