Man who called police to burp 24 times in 45 minutes sentenced to 6 months

28-year-old Rhys Pilott from Peterborough, U.K. has a history of repeatedly calling 999 (the British equivalent of 911). Then, when he gets the dispatcher on the phone, he burps.

He’s been arrested and sent to jail for the same offense previously.

After he called 24 times in 45 minutes to burp in October, he was arrested for causing a public nuisance.

Pilott was recently sentenced to six months in jail.
