A Mankato man who pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge in Mower County District Court back in June of 2022 stemming from an incident that took place at a residence in Adams has been sentenced to jail time, supervised probation and community work service.

In an amended court decision Monday, 39-year old Nickolas Michael Hinton was sentenced to 180 days in jail, five years of supervised probation and 200 hours of community work service for a felony charge of 3rd degree assault, substantial bodily harm stemming from an incident at a residence in Adams that took place on May 15th, 2022.  An 18-month prison sentence was stayed for five years if Hinton complies with the terms of his probation, and he was originally convicted on the charge on June 29th, 2022 after pleading guilty the same day.

A felony domestic assault charge in the case against Hinton stemming from the same incident was dismissed with his guilty plea.
