MDH records 26 additional COVID-19 cases in Mower County Thursday for cumulative total of 6,454

Mower County logged 6,247 confirmed and 207 probable COVID-19 cases Thursday for a cumulative total of 6,454 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of 26 from Wednesday, according to statistics released Thursday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials added that 48,946 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 740,700 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 18,125 cumulative cases Thursday, up 66 from Wednesday, Steele County now has 5,852 cumulative cases, a rise of 29 from Wednesday and Freeborn County reported 4,876 cumulative COVID-19 cases Thursday, up 17 from Wednesday.  Dodge County confirmed 2,733 cumulative cases Thursday, up 11 from Wednesday and Fillmore County recorded 2,432 cumulative cases Thursday, a rise of 17 from Wednesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 2,361 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Thursday for a cumulative total of 768,112, and they added that 26 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Wednesday to Thursday for a cumulative total of 8,515 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 40,362 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 8,817 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
