MDH records five additional COVID-19 cases in Mower County Wednesday for cumulative total of 11,759

Mower County logged 11,258 confirmed and 501 probable COVID-19 cases Wednesday for a cumulative total of 11,759 since the onset of the pandemic, up five from Tuesday, according to statistics released Wednesday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials added that the total number of positive cases, including reinfections for the duration of the pandemic now stands at 1,420,720, and just over 1,404,000 people in Minnesota have now been determined as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 40,045 cumulative cases Wednesday, a rise of 11 from Tuesday, Steele County reported 10,239 cumulative cases Wednesday, up one from Tuesday and Freeborn County confirmed 8,946 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up four from Tuesday.  Dodge County now has 5,613 cumulative cases, up five from Tuesday and Fillmore County logged 4,690 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up one from Tuesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 575 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Wednesday for a cumulative total of 1,358,764, and they added that 17 additional COVID-19 deaths were recorded in the state from Tuesday to Wednesday for a cumulative total of 12,238 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 60,880 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 11,275 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
