MDH records two additional COVID-19 cases in Mower County Wednesday for cumulative total of 11,836

Mower County logged 11,329 confirmed and 507 probable COVID-19 cases Wednesday for a cumulative total of 11,836 since the onset of the pandemic, up two from Tuesday, according to statistics released Wednesday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials added that the total number of positive cases, including reinfections in the state for the duration of the pandemic now stands at 1,432,002, and over 1,416,300 Minnesotans have now been determined as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 40,966 cumulative cases Wednesday, a rise of nine from Tuesday, Steele County reported 10,332 cumulative cases Wednesday, up two from Tuesday and Freeborn County confirmed 9,072 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up one from Tuesday.  Dodge County now has 5,668 cumulative cases, unchanged from Tuesday and Fillmore County recorded 4,774 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up one from Tuesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 366 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Wednesday for a cumulative total of 1,368,797, and they added that 11 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Tuesday to Wednesday for a cumulative total of 12,429 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 61,698 COVID-19 patients in MInnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 11,412 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
