MDH reports 13 additional COVID-19 cases in Mower County Friday for cumulative total of 4,572

Mower County logged 4,448 confirmed and 124 probable COVID-19 cases Friday for a cumulative total of 4,572 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of 13 from Thursday, according to statistics released Friday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials stated that 41,377 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and just over 553,000 people have been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County confirmed 13,024 cumulative cases Friday, up 23 from Thursday, Steele County recorded 3,769 cumulative cases Friday, a rise of 16 from Thursday and Freeborn County confirmed 3,365 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up eight from Thursday.  Dodge County now has 1,784 cumulative COVID-19 cases, up nine from Thursday and Fillmore County recorded 1,532 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up two from Thursday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 1,877 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Friday for a cumulative total of 575,812, and they added that 16 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in Minnesota from Thursday to Friday for a cumulative total of 7,144 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 30,242 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic and 6,152 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
