MDH reports COVID-19 related death in Mower County for second day in a row, 43 additional cases for cumulative total of 7,774

The Minnesota Department of Health reported Tuesday that Mower County recorded a COVID-19 related death for the second straight day, it’s 52nd overall in an individual 65-69 years of age.  They added that the county also logged 7,520 confirmed and 254 probable COVID-19 cases Tuesday for a cumulative total of 7,774 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of 43 from Monday.  Health officials stated Tuesday that the total number of positive cases for the duration of the pandemic, including reinfections, now total 990,047, and just over 957,000 people have now been determined as no longer needing isolation.  

Olmsted County recorded 24,259 cumulative cases Tuesday, a jump of 203 from Monday, Steele County reported 7,411 cumulative cases Tuesday, a rise of 68 from Monday and Freeborn County confirmed 6,171 cumulative COVID-19 cases Tuesday, up 48 from Monday.  Dodge County now has 3,903 cumulative cases, up 17 from Monday and Fillmore County recorded 3,362 cumulative COVID-19 cases Tuesday, up 38 from Monday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 7,396 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Tuesday for a cumulative total of 977,707, and they added that 41 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Monday to Tuesday for a cumulative total of 10,197 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 49,502 COVID-19 patients  in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 9,728 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
