MDH Reports Four Additional COVID-19 Cases In Mower County For The Second Day In A Row For A Cumulative Total Of 3,299

The Minnesota Department of Health has now reported over 411,000 positive COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.

Health officials reported 988 positive tests in the state Tuesday for a cumulative statewide total of 411,110. Health officials added that 31,776 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus since the start of the pandemic. More than 393,500 people have been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Mower County recorded 3,256 confirmed and 43 probable COVID-19 cases Tuesday for a cumulative total of 3,299 since the start of the pandemic, up four for the second day in a row. Olmsted County now has 9,084 cumulative cases, up 53 from Monday, Steele County reported 2,484 cumulative cases Tuesday, up five from Monday and Freeborn County now has 1,940 cumulative COVID-19 cases, up seven from Monday. Dodge County recorded 1,151 cumulative cases Tuesday, up three from Monday and Fillmore County reported 1,081 cumulative COVID-19 cases Tuesday, up five from Monday.

Minnesota’s death toll from the coronavirus rose by 36 Tuesday to a total of 5,196 since the pandemic started. Health officials reported that 3,351 COVID-19 related deaths thus far in the state have been from cases that resided in long-term care, or assisted living facilities.

A total of 21,605 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 4,575 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
