MDH reports nine additional COVID-19 cases in Mower County Thursday for cumulative total of 4,495

Mower County logged 4,375 confirmed and 120 probable COVID-19 cases Thursday for a cumulative total of 4,495 since the onset of the pandemic, up nine from Wednesday, according to statistics released Thursday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials stated that 40,325 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 524,200 people have been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County reported  12,578 cumulative COVID-19 cases Thursday, a rise of 35 from Wednesday.  Steele County recorded 3,577 cumulative cases Thursday, a jump of 31 from Wednesday and Freeborn County confirmed 3,250 cumulative COVID-19 cases Thursday, up 14 from Wednesday.  Dodge County now has 1,703 cumulative COVID-19 cases, up 13 from Wednesday and Fillmore County recorded 1,514 cumulative cases Thursday, up four from Wednesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 2,736 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Thursday for a cumulative total of 549,830, and they added that Minnesota’s death toll from the coronavirus rose by 11 Thursday for a total of 6,989 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 28,750 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the pandemic started, and 5,875 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
