Michigan man sentenced on felony swindle charge from 2017 in Mower County District Court

A Michigan man involved in a scam at Walmart in Austin in March of 2017 that netted $5,000 worth of prepaid debit cards has been sentenced to supervised probation in Mower County District Court.

23-year-old Tyler Lamar Walker of Flint, Michigan was convicted and sentenced Thursday to five years of supervised probation, 80 hours in the sentence to service program and $660 in fines and fees for a felony charge of theft by swindle.  Walker was granted a stay of imposition in the case where the defendant pleads guilty to a felony-level offense.  If he or she successfully completes their probation, the conviction will be deemed a misdemeanor.  

Walker first pleaded guilty to the charge on May 21st of this year.
