Minneapolis man sentenced to jail time, supervised probation on felony DWI charge in Mower County District Court

A Minneapolis man who pleaded guilty to a felony DWI charge in Mower County District Court after a traffic stop on October 12th, 2019 has been sentenced to jail time and supervised probation.

43-year old Mario Brown was sentenced Thursday to 180 days in jail and five years of supervised probation for a felony charge of 1st degree DWI, refusal to submit to a breath test.  A 60-month prison sentence was stayed for five years if Brown complies with the 22 different conditions of his probation, and he was given credit for 166 days already served.

Brown pleaded guilty to the charge on January 14th of this year, and he was convicted the same day.  A felony charge for 1st degree DWI, under the influence of alcohol, a gross misdemeanor charge for driving after cancellation, inimical to public safety and a misdemeanor charge for possession of over 1.4 grams of marijuana in a motor vehicle against Brown in the case were all dismissed with his guilty plea.
