MN State Fair opens Thursday

The State Fair opens Thursday, and it “feels like a little bit more of a normal year for the fair,” according to Fair spokeswoman Maria Hayden.

“We had the Fair last year but you know for everything it’s just been a little bit different the last couple years so we’re super grateful for anyone who’s able to come out this year and just excited to have a really great fair.”

“We implemented bag checks at the front gates in 2016 and then last year we brought metal detectors to the front gate. So those are just two of the things that we’re doing in our safety and security plan, but if people have questions about it they can go onto our website and visit our web page for more details,” Hayden says.

The gates open Thursday morning at 7 AM.
