The Minnesota Department of Health reported Tuesday that Mower County logged its 50th COVID-19 related death in an individual 40-44 years of age. The county also recorded 7,264 confirmed and 249 probable COVID-19 cases Tuesday for a cumulative total of 7,513 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of 75 from Monday. Health officials added that the total positive cases for the duration of the pandemic, including reinfections, now total 945,445, and over 899,400 people have now been determined as no longer needing isolation.
Olmsted County reported 23,165 cumulative cases Tuesday, a jump of 327 from Monday, Steele County recorded 7,083 cumulative cases Tuesday, up 88 from Monday and Freeborn County confirmed 5,864 cumulative COVID-19 cases Tuesday, a jump of 111 from Monday. Dodge County now has 3,747 cumulative cases, up 59 from Monday and Fillmore County reported 3,147 cumulative COVID-19 cases Tuesday, up 29 from Monday.
The Minnesota Department of Health reported 12,445 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Tuesday for a cumulative total of 934,423, and they added that 45 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Monday to Tuesday for a cumulative total of 9,699 since the onset of the pandemic. A total of 47,053 COVID-19 patients in the state have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 9,316 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
