Mower County records 51st COVID-19 related death, 26 additional cases for cumulative total of 7,726

The Minnesota Department of Health reported Monday that Mower County has recorded its 51st COVID-19 related death in an individual 70-74 years of age, and they added that the county also logged 7,472 confirmed and 254 probable COVID-19 cases Monday for a cumulative total of 7,726 since the onset of the pandemic, up 26 from Saturday and Sunday.  Health officials stated Monday that the total positive cases for the duration of the pandemic, including reinfections, now total 982,664 ,and over 945,400 people have now been determined as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 24,057 cumulative cases Monday, a rise of 69 from over the weekend, Steele County reported 7,343 cumulative cases Monday, up 31 from Saturday and Sunday and Freeborn County confirmed 6,128 cumulative COVID-19 cases Monday, up 20 from over the weekend.  Dodge County now has 3,886 cumulative cases, up 13 from Saturday and Sunday and Fillmore County recorded 3,324 cumulative COVID-19 cases Monday, up five from over the weekend.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 3,397 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Monday for a cumulative total of 970,556, and they added that 45 additional COVID-19 deaths were recorded in the state from Saturday to Monday for a cumulative total of 10,156 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 49,334 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 9,693 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
