Netflix is going to have to buy lots of nicotine gum and patches for its characters as the streaming giant seeks to stamp out smoking in most of their original programming.

In an announcement made Wednesday, Netflix says moving forward any of their shows that are rated TV-14 or PG-13 will NOT feature cigarettes or e-cigs, unless needed for historical accuracy.

In addition, they are looking to limit scenes of smoking in higher rated shows.

According to a study by anti-smoking group Truth Initiative, Stranger Things season 2 was one of the biggest offenders, with smoking depicted in 100% of the episodes.

Do you feel this will help keep kids from taking up smoking?
