Deputy general manager Renee Alexander is expecting a smooth transition when she becomes the new CEO of the Minnesota State Fair this spring. Alexander says she’s excited to be taking over for longtime GM Jerry Hammer.

“And realize that this is a tremendous responsibility. A lot of people myself included really value the State Fair and I look at myself as the caretaker for one of Minnesota’s treasures moving forward.”

Alexander says she moved from Kansas to Minnesota at age eight and fell in love with the Minnesota State Fair in middle school. She’s served as deputy GM for 13 years and plans to remain involved in booking Grandstand shows.
