Shoemaker Nike will donate 30,000 pairs of shoes designed specifically for healthcare workers (or as they call them… healthcare “athletes”) to those on the front lines of the COVID-19 fight.
Released in November 2019, Nike will donate pairs of their Air Zoom Pulse, the company’s “first shoe designed for the healthcare athlete – the everyday hero”, according to the company’s statement.
Nike studied the work of Portland healthcare workers and designed the shoes for long wear. They are also designed against spills and for extended comfort.
The company will donate 95,000 pairs mild-compression soccer socks, too.
