Overby Orthodontics Prep Athletes of the Week named!

Congratulations to this week’s KAUS Overby Orthodontics Prep Athletes of the Week,  Logan Kelly of the Austin Packers boys’ swimming and diving team, and the Austin Packers girls’ basketball team!

Kelly, a senior who was one of the individuals for the Packers competing in the State Class A boys’ swimming and diving meet last weekend at the University of Minnesota wound up a stellar high school career by taking first in the 200 meter freestyle with a time of 1:43.78.  Kelly was also second in the 100 breaststroke with a final time of 55.08, and his time in the first leg of the 200 freestyle relay of 21.11 set a new Austin High School record.  The Austin Packers girls’ basketball team is state tournament bound for the second time in three years and for the fifth time in school history as they defeated the Albert Lea Tigers 45-30 at Ove Berven Gym Wednesday evening to claim the Section 1AAA title.
