You never know what’s going to go viral, right? A TikTok video of a 16-year-old Missouri girl giving a “grammar lesson” on the Oxford comma has been racking up hits on Twitter.

She’s holding up a whiteboard with the sentence, “I thanked my parents, Batman, and Superman.” With a comma after parents and Batman.

That sentence means she’s thanking all three of them.

But then she ERASES the Oxford comma, which in this case is AFTER the word Batman. That changes the sentence to mean that her parents are Batman and Superman.

So, she’s thanking her parents, who are Batman and Superman.

Gotta say… I’m guilty of not using the Oxford Comma. :\
