STUDY: Cats Deliberately Ignore Owners

When cats ignore their owners, it’s not because they aren’t smart enough to recognize their names; instead, it’s because they’re little jerks. I knew it!
That’s according to a new study that reveals a feline has the ability to distinguish its name from other sounds, but deliberately chooses to ignore its owner when it doesn’t respond.
Japanese researchers came to the conclusion after playing hundreds of audio recordings of words that sound similar to their names, with a few samples of each test cat’s owner sprinkled in.
In all cases, researchers observed a reaction from each test cat when it heard a familiar voice say its name.
This just confirms my theory that dogs are superior! 🙂
