The Dixie Chicks are no more – meet ‘The Chicks’
The Dixie Chicks have changed their name to, simply, The Chicks.
The multi-Grammy-winning band of Natalie Maines and sisters Martie Erwin Maguire and Emily Strayer made the announcement on Twitter, along with a politically-charged video set to their anthem, “March March.”

The band has been no stranger to political controversy since its founding 30 years ago.
In 2003, Maines said the band did not support the Iraq War, and that they were “ashamed” to be from the same state of Texas as then-President Bush. The comments were widely criticized by the Country music fan base at the time.
The group’s music was blacklisted from most radio stations as a result.
