Thief Tried to Use Sticky Mouse Traps to Steal from Drop Boxes

Police in Spartanburg, South Carolina are looking for a man using a clever scheme to steal money from drop boxes outside apartment buildings and property management companies in recent days.

According to authorities, the unknown suspect is lowering sticky paper mouse traps into the boxes to steal cash, checks, and money orders.

At one location, he reportedly collected 50 checks and money orders.

Police say the “sticky fingered thief” was wearing glasses, a white hat, and a black Adidas hoodie with white stripes.
