Three Iowa men injured in one-vehicle accident on Interstate 90 in Mower County early Wednesday morning
Three Iowa residents were injured in a one-vehicle, rollover-type accident on Interstate 90 in Mower County early this (Wednesday) morning.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2020 Chevrolet G3500 van being driven by 43-year old Esteban Gonzalez Gomez of Sibley, Iowa was traveling eastbound on Interstate 90 at approximately 2:05 a.m. this (Wednesday) morning when he lost control of the vehicle on the snow and ice-covered road and rolled at milepost 198 in Pleasant Valley Township.
Three passengers in Gomez’s van, including 45-year old Aaron Gomez, 35-year old Floribarto Lopez, and 32-year old Jose Manuel Lopez, all also of Sibley, Iowa all sustained non-life threatening injuries in the accident, and they were all transported to Mayo Clinic/St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment, while Esteban Gomez was uninjured. The State Patrol reported that Gomez was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, and they added that it was unknown if the other passengers who were injured were wearing theirs.
The Mower County Sheriff’s Office, Fire Departments from Grand Meadow and Dexter, and the Grand Meadow Ambulance Squad all assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene early Wednesday morning.
