Truckenmiller scores 1,000th point as Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team downs Glenville/Emmons 77-42

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team played their last regular-season home game in Lyle Thursday night versus the Wolverines of Glenville/Emmons in a Southeast Conference West Division matchup, and senior guard Jake Truckenmiller scored the 1,000th point in a 77-42 Athletics win.

The Athletics shot just over 43% from the field and forced a whopping 32 turnovers defensively, and trailing 11-4 in the early going, LP ripped off a staggering 42-3 run to take a 46-14 lead late in the half on their way to the win.  Truckenmiller led three Athletics in double figures in scoring with 21 points, plus he added three rebounds, team-highs in assists with eight and steals with 12 for a double-double, Buay Koak added 12 points, seven rebounds and a blocked shot, Trey Anderson chipped in 10 points, six rebounds and two steals, Mac Nelson scored eight points, pulled in five rebounds and added a steal, Landon Meyer contributed seven points, Hunter Bauer and Jayden May each scored four points, David Christianson, Dylan Christianson, Mitchell Johnson, Othello Stone and Isaac Nelsen all tallied two points apiece and Landon Nemitz scored one point in the win for LP Thursday evening.

Lyle/Pacelli is now 20-3 on the season overall and 17-1 in the Southeast Conference, and the Athletics are back in action Saturday night in Plainview in a tough non-conference matchup with the Bulldogs of Plainview-Elgin-Millville out of the Three Rivers Conference, with the varsity tip-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
