Two additional COVID-19 cases recorded in Mower County Friday for cumulative total of 4,775

Mower County logged 4,641 confirmed and 134 probable COVID-19 cases Friday for a cumulative total of 4,775 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of two from Thursday, according to statistics released Friday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials stated that 43,194 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 599,400 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County confirmed 13,503 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up eight from Thursday, Steele County recorded 4,007 cumulative cases Friday, up two from Thursday and Freeborn County reported 3,507 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, a rise of six from Thursday.  Dodge County now has 1,894 cumulative cases, up six from Thursday and Fillmore County logged 1,589 cumulative COVID-19 cases for a second straight day Friday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 375 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Friday for a cumulative total of 609,387, and they added that two additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Thursday to Friday for a cumulative total of 7,650 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 33,077 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 6,690 of those patients required treatment in intensive care units.
