Two Lyle residents injured in one-vehicle accident on I-90 in Freeborn County early Monday evening

Two residents of Lyle were injured in a one-vehicle, rollover-type accident on eastbound Interstate 90 in Freeborn County early Monday evening.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2003 Ford Tarus being driven by 21-year old Abigail Marie Quelle of Lyle was traveling westbound on Interstate 90 at approximately 5:43 p.m. Monday evening when she lost control on the snowy and icy road and rolled into the median near milepost 162 in Hayward Township.

Quelle and a passenger in her vehicle, 20-year old Caleb Roy Quelle of Lyle both suffered non-life threatening injuries, and they were transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Albert Lea for treatment.  The State Patrol indicated that both parties involved in the accident were wearing their seatbelts, and the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and Mayo Ambulance both assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene Monday evening.
