Voters in Blooming Prairie School District approve $34 million bond referendum in Tuesday’s election

Voters in the Blooming Prairie School District approved a $34 million bond referendum in Tuesday’s election.

Both questions on the ballot passed by wide margins, as question 1, which passed on a vote of 606 yes to 383 no will provide $27.6 million for additions and improvements to the elementary and junior/senior high school buildings in the district, including new classrooms, plus also new baseball and softball fields, work on parking lots, industrial tech upgrades, roof repairs and a performing arts center. Question 2, which was approved on a vote of 571 yes to 391 no requested $6.4 million for the acquisition and betterment of school sites, including a new high school gymnasium.     

The results of Tuesday’s election will be made official when the Blooming Prairie School Board meets to canvass the results of the election on November 10th.
