An Austin man who was taken into custody on Tuesday after Mower County authorities became aware of multiple alleged probation violations after he was convicted and sentenced in August on one felony count of 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct with a juvenile has pleaded guilty to a second felony 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct charge stemming from another case.  

18-year old Leonardo Antonio Nieto-Vasquez pleaded guilty Friday to a felony charge of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct, penetration, victim 14-15 years of age, actor more than 24 months older after sexually abusing a 14-year old girl in Brownsdale from March 1st to April 15th of this year.  Nieto-Vasquez was also convicted and sentenced on August 17th to 10 years of supervised probation after pleading guilty on May 12th to an additional felony charge of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct, penetration, victim 14-15 years of age, actor more than 24 months older after conducting a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl in Austin in April of this year.  A 36-month prison sentence was stayed for 10 years if Nieto-Vasquez complied with 25 different conditions of his probation, and on Tuesday, Nieto-Vasquez was taken into custody after being accused of violating the terms of his probation, specifically, the court’s instructions to avoid contact with juveniles, and to avoid alcohol consumption.  

At a probation hearing Friday, a violation was admitted to the court and found, and hearings for Nieto-Vasquez in both cases in Mower County District Court have been scheduled for January 5th, 2024.  Nieto-Vasquez is being held in the Mower County jail on $100,000 bail or bond with no conditions.
