The Austin Packers baseball team was looking for win number four in a row at Dick Seltz Field Tuesday versus Big 9 Conference for Rochester Century, and a six-run bottom of the third inning helped to key an 8-5 Packers win.
The Panthers plated a run in the top of the fourth inning to cut the Austin lead to 6-1, but the Packers plated two more runs in the bottom half of the inning for an 8-1 lead.  Century tallied two runs in the top of the fifth and two more in the seventh, but the Packers were able to hold off the Panthers rally for the win.
Left-handed pitcher Nick Robertson threw a gem of a game for Austin Tuesday, as he threw the first six innings and gave up three runs, one earned, on five hits, striking out seven and walking two.  Sam Oelfke pitched the top of the seventh for the Packers and gave up two runs, both earned, on one hit, striking out none and walking one.
Offensively for Austin, the Packers totaled 11 hits off of seven different Century pitchers, led by Isaac Osgood, who went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBI’s, Ethan Anderson was a perfect 2 for 2 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base, Kody Blom went 2 for 3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, Robertson helped his own cause by going 1 for 4 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored, Isaac Stromlund went 1 for 4 with a run scored and two stolen bases, Peyton Ransom and Brayden Bishop both went 1 for 3 with a run scored, and Sam Winkels was 1 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored.
With the win, Austin is back to .500 at 7-7, and the Packers will go for win number five in a row in Albert Lea Thursday versus the Tigers, with first pitch at 5 p.m.  You’ll hear the game live on AM 1480 KAUS, with the pre-game show getting underway at 4:50 p.m.
