The Austin Packers boys golf team, under the tutelage of Head Coach Matt Raso opened their 2024 season Monday with a trip to The Bridges Golf Course in Winona for a Big 9 Conference dual meet with the Winhawks, and it was the Packers emerging victorious by 16 strokes 356-372.

Junior Carter Hovelsrud fired the low round for Austin Monday with an 83, junior Cale Tupy finished with a round of 87, followed by sophomore Isaac Anderson, who carded a score of 90, fellow sophomore Elijah Krueger fired a 96, and senior Izaac Erickson finished with a score of 100 in the win.

The Packers will be back in action Saturday at a 14-team invitational hosted by Hayfield at The Oaks Golf Course, with Blooming Prairie, Shakopee, Caledonia, Cannon Falls, Fillmore Central Glenville-Emmons, Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton, LeRoy-Ostrander, Randolph, Rochester Lourdes, Rushford-Peterson and Triton also participating.

The teams are scheduled to tee off at 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
