The Austin Packers boys swimming and diving team played host to a 7-team invitational at Bud Higgins Pool at Ellis Middle School Saturday, and it was Cedar Falls, Iowa High School taking home first place with 526.5 points, Northfield was back in second with 458 points, followed by Rochester Mayo in third at 420 points.  The host Packers were fourth Saturday with 257.5 points, followed by Mason City High School in fifth with 100 points, Rochester John Marshall was sixth with 86 points, and Rochester Century finished seventh with 81 points.

High finishers for Austin Saturday included the squad’s 200 Medley Relay team of Brent Dahl, Hunter Peters, Lucas Meyers and Carter Holt, as they were fourth with a final time of 1:47.19, Riley Ferguson and Gage Rasmussen finished 1-2 in 1-Meter Diving with scores of 305.65 and 270.35, respectively, Brent Dahl took first in the 500 Freestyle for the Packers Saturday with a time of 5:00.60, and he was also first in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 55.03 seconds.

Other top finishers for the Packers Saturday included Hunter Peters, who was sixth in the 100 Breasttroke with a time of 1:07.47, and the squad’s 400 Freestyle Relay team of Brent Dahl, Noah Holt, Lucas Meyers and Zach Evenson took fifth with a time of 3:39.94.

Austin returns to action Tuesday evening as they play host to Faribault in a Big 9 Conference dual meet, with the action scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
