The Austin Packers Dance Team made their 22nd straight appearance at the State Class AA Meet at Target Center in downtown Minneapolis Friday and Saturday, and for the first time in the program’s history, the Packers were competing in both jazz and high-kick.

In the jazz competition, the Packers were unable to qualify for the finals, as Benilde-St. Margaret’s wound up taking first place, with Orono taking second place and Mound-Westonka taking third.  In the high-kick competition, Austin qualfied for the finals Friday alongside Totino-Grace, Benilde-St. Margaret’s Orono, Mound-Westonka and Delano, and in the finals Saturday, Totino-Grace took first place, with the Packers second and Benilde-St. Margaret’s third.

St. Cloud Cathedral was the Class A champion in jazz, while Wayzata took top honors in Class AAA, and Holdingford was the Class A champion in high-kick, with Brainerd taking first in Class AAA Saturday.
