The Austin Packers girls basketball team was on the road to the Med City Friday night as they took on the Rochester Mayo Spartans, the leaders in the Big 9 Conference, and it was the Spartans making a 37-23 halftime lead stand up as they downed the Packers 65-57.

Junior guard Ajiem Agwa led the Packers in scoring Friday night as she poured in 33 points, Quinn Osgood tallied eight points, Atee Obang scored eight points, Gracie Arndt totaled four points, and Mackenzie Brede and Marissa Shute each scored two points apiece.

The Packers are now 8-10 in the Big 9 Conference and 9-12 overall on the season, and the club returns to action at Ove Berven Gym Tuesday evening as they play host to the Mankato West Scarlets, and you’ll hear the game on AM 1480 KAUS, with the pre-game show coming your way at 7:15 p.m., and tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
