The Austin Packers girls basketball team was looking to close out the road portion of their 2023-2024 regular season schedule with a win in Red Wing versus the Wingers in a Big 9 Conference and Section 1AAA matchup, but it was the Wingers holding off a second half comeback attempt to win 61-58.

The Packers trailed 32-28 at the half, and guard Marissa Shute led Austin offensively Friday night with 21 points, Ajiem Agwa, who went over 1,000 points versus Mankato West Tuesday evening finished with 19 points, Quinn Osgood added nine points, Atee Obang scored five points and Gracie Arndt tallied four points.

The Packers fall to 10-13 overall on the season with the loss, and they are now 9-11 in the Big 9 Conference.  Austin will close out the regular season with a two-game homestand starting Tuesday night versus Northfield, with the varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m.
