Austin Packers girls swimming and diving team takes 3rd at Spamtown Invitational Saturday

The Austin Packers girls swimming and diving team hosted the six-team Spamtown Invitational at Bud Higgins Pool Saturday, and it was the Packers taking third place with a total of 403 team points.  Rochester Century was first with a total of 653 points, followed by Winona back in second with 496.  Then came Austin, followed by St. Peter with 342 points, Rochester Mayo finished fifth in the team competition with 205 points, and Tri-City United was sixth with 131 points.  Attached are the results of the Packer (Spamtown) Invite from Today.

Other high finishers for the Packers on Saturday included the team’s 200 relay team of Greenman, Alivia Hemry, Sydney Tobak and Abbie Boysen, who took fourth with a time of 2:03.22, and Boysen was fourth for the Packers in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:09.90.  Greenman was third in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:21.49, and Hemry swam a time of 26.80 second in the 50 freestyle, which was good for third place.

Austin’s 1-meter diving combo of Alayna Kennedy and Reese Norton, who have been finishing 1-2 at nearly every meet this season were at it again on Saturday, as Kennedy was first with a score of 398 points, and Norton was second with a total of 340 points.  Abbie Boysen was first for the Packers in the 100 freestyle Saturday with a time of 57.70 seconds, and Austin’s 200 freestyle relay team of Alivia Hemry, Gracie Greenman, Anna Kossman and Abby Boysen took third with a final time of 1:47.31.

The Packers return to action on Tuesday as they travel to Rochester to meet the John Marshall Rockets in the Big 9 Conference, with the action scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
