Austin Packers gymnastics team qualfies two inviduals for State Class A Meet
The Austin Packers gymnastics team competed at the Section 1A Meet at Rochester John Marshall High School Saturday,and in the team competition, the Packers finished third with a score of 136.650, just behind second-place Winona with 138.600 points, and first-place Byron with 138.975 points.
Individually, junior Kiki Rodriguez will be heading back to the State Class A Individual Meet for the second year in a row, as she qualified in the All-Around Saturday by taking third with a score of 34.925, with teammate Katelynn Klouse taking seventh with an all-around score of 33.800. Also qualifying for the state meet Saturday was Emily Klapperich on the balance beam, as she took second with a score of 9.025.
Other high finishers for Austin Saturday included Callie McRae, who tied for fifth in the floor exercise with a score of 9.505, Rodriguez finished eighth in the vault with a score of 9.050, with teammate Payton Gilmer taking ninth with a score of 9.025, and Reese Norton finished seventh on the bars Saturday with a score of 8.175,
The State Class A Gymnastics Meet will be held Friday, February 23rd and Saturday, February 24th at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul.
